Teachers: Make your wellbeing a priority in 2017

Julian Stanley urges teachers to share the load in 2017 and create a culture of wellbeing

You may have begun the new term with a sense of trepidation. If so, perhaps now is the time to remind yourself that you already have what is arguably the toughest school term of the year under your belt.

That said, if you haven’t done so to date, make your wellbeing a priority going forward for 2017. Sticking to a few essential rules can deliver great benefits.

First and foremost, share concerns if you have them. As a charity supporting teacher wellbeing, we are currently experiencing our busiest period of the year in terms of sheer volume of calls to our free, confidential helpline.
