Diary of an NQT: More daunting than I thought

As I sit typing this first diary entry on the plane back from some time away in America, it has started to dawn on me what exactly is about to happen, just a few days away, in September.

I am going to be a teacher! Not somebody who is watched every single lesson to make sure everything is okay. Not somebody who the students do not know – wondering who they are and what they are doing in their school!

No – I'm going to be a real teacher, with real responsibilities, targets and duties that will take place every day of the week.
